Venus Infers needs votes in Battle of the Bands

I had my friend's band Venus Infers enter a Battle of the Bands held by Mary-kate and Ashley, and they just found out today that they made it to the final 10. Voting started on the April 9th, so all the other bands have been having their friends and fans vote.

I'd love for them to win so that they could have some extra exposure of their music on the MK&A website.

Hear their music, and go here to vote for Venus Infers if you like them. I recommend listening to "The Review" and "Vanilla Is"

show: Coldplay

I really don't use my xanga, so all my posts are on my LJ. I'm just copying and pasting some posts over so that my xanga isn't empty. Post from March 12, 2005 @ 18:26:

Yesterday night, Davis, Ben, and I saw Coldplay at the Troubadour! KROQ announced yesterday that Coldplay tickets were going on sale that afternoon for a showing that same night--only 150 would be sold at $10 a ticket. After work, we decided on whim to drive to LA to try our luck ... when we got there at 9pm, we were told that the tickets went on sale at 5pm.. people had been lining up since 8am...and they sold out at 6pm! Nooooo...so 2 hours in traffic and a $7 parking fee later, we remained hopeful that somehow we would get in.. we didn't know how, but we were determined to hear coldplay

scalpers were selling the tickets at $100-250 a piece... so that wasn't an option (afterall..we are poor students). after waiting around in front of the venue for a few hours, a small community developed around us .. a hip musician who had a knack for spotting b-list celebrities who had moved from Kansas to pursue his band, an even hipper aspiring screenwriter who had moved from Ohio to become a writer, and a peppy girl from westwood. by 11, the mob had died down to just 10 of us ...Coldplay was suppose to come on soon, so we were hoping to at least hear them from the door. all of a sudden, two men in black suits appeared and gave a few of us the much-saught-after sparkly glittery coldplay admission wristbands----we were in..and we didn't even have to pay for it-----

it was surreal.. although I had been hopeful, I didn't really think we were going to get in.. i had planned on heading home pleased to have just met some cool kids while waiting in line! inside, we saw robbie williams, tara from desperate housewives, the guy from starsailor, a guy from SNL, and a porn star who looked like JLO ...the place was infested with b-list celebs!

we watched the live show from the front of the stage ... I felt like I was watching it on TV instead of actually experiencing it live ..
here's the setlist:

square one
in my place
white shadows
scientist
maps (cover of yeahyeahyeah)
daylight
sparks
a message
clocks
what if
(encore)
politik
yellow
speed of sound

what a wonderful night!

"according to kroq, due to the excessive amount of people and the chaos it was causing on santa monica blvd. as of 3:45pm the line that had been forming outside the troubadour was cut off and only 100-150 people got to buy tickets. the radio ran out of tickets to giveaway."

"For those of you asking yourselves why you don't live in LA - this show will be damn near impossible to get into, even for us locals. Other radio stations have stated how the line at the Troubadour has been forming since the news broke out - lucky bastards!"

"well they didn't play maps completely, i think after either.. the scientist or clocks (i forget which one) chris was on the piano and started singing "theeeeeeey don't love you like i love you" while he was looking at gwyn on the balcony, it was soo cute, she looked all happy."
